TMC Convention Day 2 Recap
Day 2 of the 2023 Annual Texas Masonry Council Convention was an eventful day full of fun and productive fundraisers. We kicked off the morning with 112 golfers teeing off at the beautiful golf course here in Horseshoe Bay.
Meanwhile, a group of dedicated masonry instructors delved into the first day of hands-on training, led by Ashton White, affectionately known as "That Masonry Girl" and with incredible help from C.W. Oates Masonry and Fred Campbell. The training is another way to improve the skills of these instructors so they can continue to help train the next generation of masons, ensuring the industry's growth and excellence.

As the day transitioned into the evening, the casino night took center stage. The night featured both silent and live auctions, and the generosity of the masonry community shone brightly as we managed to raise an impressive $219,000.
As the day drew to a close, attendees wrapped up the night at the 360 Bar, even somehow managing to talk them into keeping it open past their normal hours for our group! It was a long and enjoyable night, reminding us all of the strong bonds that tie us together in the masonry community.
Day 3 is shaping up to be a great one too as we have the Golden Trowel Banquet- our biggest events
In the midst of all the festivities, we also wanted to pay our respects to Lynn Skinner, of Skinner Masonry, who had passed away. You can learn more about Lynn’s amazing life and how to make a donation in her name here. Many of us from the UMCA attended Lynn's funeral, emphasizing the close-knit nature of the masonry community in DFW and across the state.
